Türkiye’s Stock Exchange Ends Tuesday Up
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock exchange ended Tuesday on a strong note, with the BIST 100 index climbing 0.74% to close at 10,814.11, building on momentum from earlier in the session.
Opening at 10,741.77, the benchmark added 79.24 points compared to Monday’s close. Intraday movement saw the index swing between a low of 10,717.31 and a high of 10,847.37.
By the closing bell, 68 stocks on the index advanced, while 28 declined, reflecting broad investor confidence.
Trading activity remained robust, with turnover reaching 117.2 billion Turkish liras (approximately $2.81 billion). The overall market capitalization of the index stood at 10 trillion liras (roughly $240.6 billion).
Currency markets saw the USD/TRY exchange rate at 41.7050 by 6:30 p.m. local time (1530GMT). The EUR/TRY pair was quoted at 48.7175, and GBP/TRY stood at 56.1110.
Elsewhere in commodities, gold was priced at $3,985.25 per ounce, while Brent crude oil settled at $65.15 per barrel.
