Consistent Summer Heat Forecast Through Weekend, Slight Dip Ahead

Amman, July 18 (Petra) -- The Kingdom is settling into a typical summer rhythm, with most regions experiencing ordinary summer conditions today, Friday. However, the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba remain under the grip of intense heat. Winds across the Kingdom will be northwesterly and moderate, with occasional gusts.
Looking ahead to Saturday, the Jordan Meteorological Department forecasts a slight dip in temperatures, bringing moderately summery weather to most areas. The Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will, nonetheless, continue to bake under hot conditions. Northern and central parts of the Kingdom may see some low-lying clouds. Northwesterly winds will persist at moderate speeds, sometimes picking up.
Sunday's outlook remains largely consistent, with typical summer weather prevailing across the majority of the country. Hot conditions are again expected for the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Skies over northern and central Jordan might feature a few low-altitude clouds, and northwesterly winds will maintain a moderate pace, occasionally strengthening in the desert regions.
As Monday arrives, temperatures are expected to nudge upward slightly. Most areas will become relatively hot, while the desert regions will feel the heat. The Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba are slated for very hot conditions. Northwesterly winds will continue to be moderate, with occasional increases in strength across the desert areas.
For today, Friday, temperatures in East Amman are projected to range from a high of 33 to a low of 20 degrees Celsius. West Amman will see 32 to 18 degrees, the Northern Highlands 29 to 18, and the Shara Highlands 30 to 16.
Desert areas can expect highs of 36 dropping to 19, while the plains will experience 34 to 20. The Northern Jordan Valley is set for a sweltering 42 to 20 degrees, the Southern Jordan Valley 43 to 26, and the Dead Sea a high of 42 to 26. In the Gulf of Aqaba, temperatures will reach 42 degrees, with lows of 27.
