Iran Denies Any Date For Negotiations With U.S.

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, June 29 (KUNA) -- Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi said on Sunday that there was no date for negotiations or meetings with the U.S. side.
The Iranian official's statement came in repose to U.S. President Donald Trump's recent remarks that Washington planned to hold talks with Iran next week.
However, Takht-Ravanchi restated his country's support for democracy, but he cast doubts about U.S. seriousness about return to the negotiating table, reported Iran's Mehr News Agency.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday that Tehran had no plan to meet with the U.S., contradicting relevant statements by the U.S. president.
Tehran and Washington had held five previous rounds of negotiations before the Israeli occupation and the U.S. attacked Iran's nuclear facilities. (end) mw
