(MENAFN) David Barnea, head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence service, announced that the agency will maintain its activities within Iran, as revealed in a video released on Wednesday.

In the footage, Barnea addresses operatives at Mossad’s operational center just hours after a ceasefire between Israel and Iran took effect. “We will continue to keep a close eye on all of Iran’s projects that we already know in the most in-depth way. We will be there as we have been there until now,” he stated.

Barnea highlighted Mossad’s role in assisting the Israeli Air Force to disrupt Iran’s nuclear program, secure air dominance over Iranian territory, and mitigate missile threats, all contributing to the protection of Israeli citizens. He also expressed gratitude to the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency for their collaborative efforts.

The recent escalation began on June 13, when Israel launched extensive airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites, resulting in the deaths of senior commanders, scientists, and civilians. Iran retaliated with multiple missile and drone strikes on Israeli territory, causing casualties and significant damage.

The ceasefire agreement between the two nations was announced on Tuesday, marking a pause in the hostilities.
