China Warns Citizens Against Working in Israeli Territories
(MENAFN) China issued a public advisory on Wednesday cautioning its nationals in Israel against accepting jobs in settlements located in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
According to reports by state-run media, the government emphasized that employment in these “sensitive regions” breaches existing labor agreements and constitutes unlawful work activity.
In a statement featured by a news agency, the Chinese Embassy in Israel declared, “The Chinese government has always strictly implemented the UN Security Council resolutions, fulfilled relevant international obligations, and prohibited Chinese nationals from working in sensitive areas such as settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.”
The embassy stressed that individuals employed in these territories would be seen as violating their contracts and would not be entitled to consular support.
Chinese authorities urged their citizens to honor their contractual obligations and avoid working in Israeli settlements, underlining the importance of safeguarding their legal entitlements and personal security.
This advisory coincided with reports of renewed settler violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
During a series of dispersed confrontations, a Palestinian individual and an international activist sustained injuries, while two cars were set ablaze.
