626 Tourists Visited Southern Mazar Shrines During Eid Holiday

Karak, June 11 (Petra) - 626 tourists of various nationalities visited shrines of Prophet Mohammad's companions in Southern Mazar area in southern Karak governorate during Eid al-Adha holiday, marking a "remarkable" turnout.
Out of the total figure, 130 Arab tourists visited the attractions and 350 other nationalities flocked the sites, indicating the religious and touristic importance of these venerable shrines.
In a statement on Wednesday, Awqaf Director of Southern Mazar District, Dr. Ahmed Shamaileh, said the Companions' shrines drew "widespread" attention from visitors on every religious holiday and occasion.
Shamaileh added that the sites are "key" religious tourist attractions in the district, attracting hundreds of visitors annually interested in Islamic history and religious monuments.
Shamaileh commended local municipalities' role in providing the necessary facilitations to welcome visitors, which contributed to facilitating visitor flow and enhancing travel experience.
