Critical Manufacturing MES Available to Run on AWS for Flexible Cloud Deployment

(MENAFN- BCM Public Relations) Availability supports manufacturers adopting flexible, cloud-first operational strategies

PORTO, Portugal, 04.06.2025 – Critical Manufacturing, a provider of a modern Manufacturing Execution System (MES), today announced that its MES is now available to run on Amazon Web Services (AWS), giving manufacturing customers greater flexibility in meeting operational goals through cloud based architectures.

The announcement supports AWS customers who are already using or planning to use Critical Manufacturing MES and want to host the solution on AWS. With the system now able to run on AWS, customers can take advantage of broader integration possibilities with AWS services, helping them align production operations with enterprise infrastructure strategies, improve system scalability, and unlock new levels of responsiveness across sites.

“Many manufacturers are rethinking how and where their production systems are deployed,” said José Silva, R&D Director, Critical Manufacturing. “By making our MES available to run on AWS, we are helping customers take the first step toward broader integration strategies and new forms of system intelligence built on cloud infrastructure. It also creates new opportunities to explore how AWS services can enhance the value of MES data.”

Critical Manufacturing sees AWS as one of its key infrastructure and hyperscaler partners. An MES is more than a data or control system; it is a dynamic technology platform for enabling continuous improvement and agility on the shop floor. The broad portfolio of managed services available from AWS, combined with ongoing technical collaboration, enables Critical Manufacturing to rapidly introduce new capabilities and iterate with speed, helping customers adapt more easily to evolving technology demands.

The deployment plan reflects a shared interest in providing manufacturers with infrastructure choices as they modernize operations. Running Critical Manufacturing MES on AWS helps customers better unify shop floor and enterprise operations, extract actionable insights from production data, and lay the foundation for advanced capabilities such as AI/ML powered optimization and predictive analytics. It also gives the ability to scale across regions, standardize operations, and reduce the on-premises system maintenance footprint, all while maintaining the traceability and control essential to regulated and high-precision industries.

AWS identified Critical Manufacturing as a valuable MES provider in part due to its focus on the semiconductor, electronics, medical device, and industrial equipment industries, where cloud deployment often involves detailed planning and operational alignment. This focus complements the existing MES engagements of AWS and expands the range of solutions available to manufacturing customers.

“Customers are evolving their operational models and increasingly exploring cloud-based MES deployment strategies to support MES standardization,” said Will Trogdon, VP of Partner Ecosystem at Critical Manufacturing. “Running our MES on AWS empowers this shift by enabling flexible configuration choices and offering a foundation for modernization across global operations.”

The partnership will be on full display at the upcoming MES & Industry 4.0 (MESI) Summit, hosted by Critical Manufacturing in Porto from June 12th to 13th. As part of the event, AWS will lead a session at the Technology Tracks — where manufacturers can explore key technology topics to fast-track learning and accelerate adoption.

Together, Critical Manufacturing and AWS will continue to strengthen their collaboration, driven by a shared goal of empowering manufacturers to further amplify the value of their MES investment.
