North Korea’s Military Conducts Special Operations Drills
(MENAFN) North Korea's military conducted joint tactical exercises focused on special operations, aiming to improve combat readiness, according to a report released Wednesday by state media.
The drills, which involved coordinated maneuvers between special operations units and tank subunits, took place on Tuesday, a North Korean news outlet confirmed.
The news outlet stated that "various tactical drills conducted by special operations sub-units for passing the standard of all-purpose battalion and the training match between tankmen's sub-units held afterwards aroused the visitors' special interest."
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un observed the drills in person, accompanied by Defense Minister No Kwang Chol and top military commanders.
During the event, Kim commended the exercises, noting their purpose was to strengthen the operational performance and capability of the nation's armed forces.
"Our revolutionary armed forces are now in charge of not a few fronts, but the most important among them is the anti-imperialist class front, and making full preparations for war is the most crucial task," he noted.
He emphasized that the top revolutionary priority is to ensure the military is fully trained, highly disciplined, and ready to execute any command.
