Thomas Muller Announces His Leave from Bayern Munich
(MENAFN) Thomas Muller announced on Saturday that he will be leaving Bayern Munich at the
conclusion of the current season, marking the end of his illustrious 25-year journey with
the German club.
"Hello Bayern fans, after much speculation regarding my future recently, I want to take
this opportunity to clarify things. Even after all these years, no matter how many minutes
I play, I still truly enjoy being on the field with the team and competing for titles together
in our colors. I could have easily pictured myself in this role next year as well," Muller
expressed in a heartfelt message on Instagram.
"However, the club has made a conscious decision not to enter into negotiations for a
new contract with me for the upcoming season. Although this does not align with my
personal wishes, it is crucial that the club follows its beliefs. I respect this decision, which
the board and supervisory board undoubtedly did not make lightly," he continued.
Muller became a member of Bayern Munich's youth academy in 2000 and went on to
have a remarkable career with his childhood club.
Throughout his time at Bayern, he won a total of 32 trophies, which include two UEFA
Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, two FIFA Club World Cups, as well as
12 German Bundesliga titles.
