Elysee: Macron, Trump Speak Ahead Of Ukraine Peace Summit

PARIS, March 27 (KUNA) -- The Elysee Palace said on Thursday that French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone with his US counterpart, Donald Trump, who is not participating in the summit, after his meeting with President Zelensky, last Wednesday evening.
The Elysee Palace did not disclose the details of the conversation between Macron and Trump.
Moreover, President Macron affirmed on Thursday his commitment to working with Kiev's allies to achieve "lasting peace" for Ukraine and Europe.
Macron posted a photo on his X social media account of himself with his guests participating in the Peace and Security Summit in Ukraine from the Elysee Palace, with the caption, "Building a robust peace for Ukraine and Europe."
President Macron is chairing the high-level meeting at the Elysee Palace alongside his Ukrainian counterpart President Volodymyr Zelensky, with Kiev's allies in attendance, to discuss developments in the Russian-Ukrainian war and cooperation to address ongoing security challenges. (end)
