Chris Perry To Depart Weber Shandwick After Two Decades

(MENAFN- PRovoke) NEW YORK - Chris Perry, Weber Shandwick's chief innovation officer and chairman of its Futures unit, is leaving the agency after more than 22 years.

Weber Shandwick confirmed Perry's departure but did not comment on the reasons behind the move. Futures, which serves as the agency's AI accelerator, will be led by operations head Kelly Sullivan and applicated innovation head Patrick Chaupham following Perry's April 15 departure.

"Chris's leadership has been pivotal in our agency's evolution, helping to accelerate our digital business transformation, expanding our digital footprint, and enhancing our capabilities in digital strategy, content production, and media innovation," said global CEO Susan Howe. "We are so grateful to Chris for his visionary leadership and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."

Under the Futures organization, Perry has led the charge on AI transformation, technology development, and integration - both for the agency and as an advisor to top clients. In 2024, Perry published his first book, "Perspective Agents," a guide to navigating a period of rapid cultural change driven by AI.

Perry's departure coincides with the agency's launch of Weber I/O, a new capability dedicated to transforming how organizations integrate data, technology and AI into their marketing and communications strategies and workflows. The solution, which builds on the foundation of futures, will be led by Dustin Johnson, most recently North America chief commercial officer, who has been promoted to the newly created role of global chief commercial & innovation officer.

Weber I/O will serve as a center of excellence for AI-powered communication initiatives. These initiatives include the firm's new“AI + You” offering, a suite of proprietary solutions for Weber Shandwick employees and clients, and its HALO Workspace, a next-generation AI platform trained on the agency's best work, industry knowledge, and integration with IPG's Acxiom data spine, the agency said in announcing the launch.

I/O will also serve as a locus point for continued co-creation of custom AI solutions with clients - from secure collaboration environments for scenario planning, to synthetic audiences for message testing, to advanced analytics applications that help brands track and analyze issues across stakeholders and regions, it said.
