New Zealand initiates public input on India FTA talks

(MENAFN) The New Zealand government has initiated a public consultation regarding its ongoing talks for an extensive Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India. The consultation period commenced on Monday, marking a crucial step in the nation's trade strategy.

New Zealand Trade and Investment Minister Todd McClay emphasized the substantial trade prospects India presents for New Zealand. He highlighted that solidifying economic connections with India is integral to the government's ambitious objective of achieving a two-fold increase in export value within the coming ten years.

Minister McClay extended an invitation to all interested New Zealanders, encompassing businesses, non-governmental organizations, and the general public, to contribute their perspectives. The deadline for submissions is April 15. He stressed that the insights gathered from the public will play a vital role in shaping the negotiation approach during these early stages.
