U.S. naval forces hit Hodeidah airport, Majzar in Yemen

(MENAFN) The U.S. naval forces executed a series of strikes on Saturday night, targeting Hodeidah airport in the Yemeni Red Sea port city and the Majzar district in the central Marib province, as revealed by a media outlet.

The strikes, including three on the airport and five on the district, did not provide details on casualties or damage, and there has been no official response from the U.S. military.

Hodeidah airport has been inaccessible to civilian air traffic as of 2014, when the Houthi group took control of multiple northern cities, which includes the strategic port city of Hodeidah. The airport has also been hit by preceding U.S. airstrikes.

Earlier that day, the Houthis claimed responsibility for a sixth attack on U.S. naval forces in the northern Red Sea since March 15, deploying multiple drones against warships accompanying the USS Harry S. Truman.

In a separate incident, the Houthis also reported launching a ballistic missile attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, which the Israeli military intercepted on Friday night.
