Cabinet Condemns Israel's Resumption Of Gaza Aggression, Highlights Urgent Need To Implement Ceasefire Deal
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held on Wednesday.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated the following:
The Cabinet renewed the State of Qatar's condemnation, in the strongest terms, of the Israeli occupation's resumption of its aggression on the Gaza Strip, calling it a blatant challenge to the international will supporting peace, including the ceasefire agreement. It also reiterated the State's warning that the occupation's escalating policies will ultimately lead to an increased pace of escalation in the region.
The Cabinet emphasised that the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip have reached catastrophic levels, reflecting the urgent need for action by the international community to ensure necessary protection of the brotherly Palestinian people. It also highlighted the urgent need to resume dialogue to implement the phases of the ceasefire agreement, ultimately bringing an end to the war on the Gaza Strip, ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid to its residents, and providing appropriate conditions for its reconstruction in line with the Gaza Reconstruction Plan approved at the Arab Summit held in Cairo on March 4, 2025.
The Cabinet then considered the items on its agenda, taking note of the Shura Council's approval of a draft law on supporting innovation and scientific research.
The draft law aims to promote a culture of creativity, innovation, and scientific research among citizens, raise awareness of the importance of scientific research and technology as fundamental pillars of progress and future aspirations, and support and serve development plans in their comprehensive sense, while aligning scientific research with the needs and local challenges of society.
The Cabinet approved a draft law on the Owners' Association and decided to refer it to the Shura Council. The draft law aims to regulate the management of real estate and the maintenance of common areas shared by all owners in a single property. It also mandates that unit owners in joint properties establish an association to make collective decisions, ensuring an environment that addresses the needs and common interests of owners while reducing potential disputes between them.
The Cabinet also approved the draft contribution agreement between Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to improve education, health and sanitation in the Pinar del Rio province in Cuba for the year 2025.
Additionally, it approved the draft basic contribution agreement between Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and the International Labor Organisation (ILO) to support the organisation's program and budget, as well as the draft memorandum of understanding for conducting political consultations on issues of common concern between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica.
The Cabinet concluded its meeting by reviewing three reports: a report on the results of the work of the Coordination Committee between the entities operating at Hamad International Airport for the period from 1/4 to 30/9/2024; a report on the participation of the State of Qatars delegation, headed by HE the Minister of Labor, in the Global Labor Market Conference; and a report on the participation of the State of Qatars delegation, led by HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry, in the ministerial meeting to sign the State of Qatars accession to the founding statute of the Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development. The Cabinet made the appropriate decisions regarding these reports.
