India, Australia Welcomes Increasing Defence Cooperation

NEW DELHI, March 17 (KUNA) -- India and Australia welcomed on Monday, increasing defence cooperation and stressed commitment to work together to promote a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
Indian Defence Ministry said in a statement that during the ninth India-Australia Defence Policy Talks held in New Delhi, both countries emphasized the increasing frequency and complexity of defence exercises and exchanges, as well as their participation in each other's major defence trade expositions.
During the talks, the Indian delegation was headed by Joint Secretary at the Department of Defence Amitabh Prasad, while the Australian side was led by First Assistant Secretary International Policy Division, Department of Defence Australia Bernard Philip.
Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation and interoperability across maritime, land and air domains, including working with multilateral partners. (end)
