Jordan Elected As Handicraft Cities Network's Coordinator For Arab Member States

Madaba, Feb. 7 (Petra)-- The Director of the Development Unit in the Greater Madaba Municipality, Mohammed Abu Qaoud, was chosen by representatives of the Arab member states of the UNESCO Creative Cities for Handicrafts Network to serve as the coordinator of the Arab nations in the network. The Arab nations are currently taking part in the "Crafts and Popular Arts Forum" conference for the network's cities, which is being held in the Saudi Arabian city of Al-Ahsa.
"The election of Abu Qaoud, a member of the Greater Madaba Municipality's delegation and a participant in the conference, comes in appreciation of Jordan and its remarkable presence in the field of handicrafts, especially the mosaic craft," said Aref Al-Rawajih, the mayor of Greater Madaba Municipality, in a statement released by the municipality today, Friday.
The conference is being attended by over 40 member states of the UNESCO Creative Cities for Handicrafts Network.
