Qatar Takes Part In Partnership Forum Of UN's ECOSOC

New York: The State of Qatar participated in the 2025 Partnership Forum of the United Nation's Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The State of Qatar was represented at the forum by Director General of Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) Fahad Hamad Hassan Al Sulaiti. The forum was held for one day, and concluded its work on Wednesday, under the theme“Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind”.

During the plenary session of the forum, the QFFD Director General said that at the Qatar Fund for Development, they focus on addressing today's pressing global challenges through innovative and targeted financing solutions, adding that they are aware of the importance of addressing the global financing gap, so they are actively participating in initiatives that enable countries to build their capacities and reduce dependence on unsustainable debt.

He stated that since its establishment, the Qatar Fund For Development has provided more than $7bn to support more than 90 countries, positively impacting the lives of millions through projects in the fields of health, education, economic development and other sectors.

A delegation from QFFD participated in the four working parts of the Sustainable Development Goals, which highlighted the importance of forming and developing concrete and innovative partnerships to enhance the implementation process and success.

The sessions addressed goal 8 Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 14 (Life Below Water) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality), and they were chaired by a number of key UN agencies, and aimed to strengthen cooperation between various sectors and accelerate progress towards the 2030 Agenda.
