(MENAFN) Iranian private knowledge-based companies have developed 768 components for marine, port, and telecommunication-electronic sectors, demonstrating the increasing confidence of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) in domestic talent and innovation, according to a senior official.
Ali Fathi, the deputy for Engineering and Infrastructure Development at the PMO, emphasized that this initiative is a key part of Iran’s broader effort to foster local manufacturing and strengthen economic stability. He stated "In line with the Leader’s focus on enhancing domestic production and achieving self-reliance, the PMO has made the maintenance of equipment, production of port and marine components, and advancements in telecom-electronics a top priority."
At the upcoming 8th Transportation, Logistics, and Related Industries Exhibition, scheduled to take place from December 16 to 18 at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla, 220 new components from the port, marine, and telecom-electronics sectors will be displayed for professionals, innovators, and the general public.
Fathi underlined the PMO’s dedication to utilizing local capabilities, especially through partnerships with knowledge-based firms. "This initiative not only challenges unjust sanctions but also curtails foreign currency losses, generates sustainable jobs, and elevates the nation’s engineering and manufacturing expertise to international standards," he remarked.
