Qatar initiates air bridge to send medical aid to Gaza from Jordan

(MENAFN) On Monday, Qatar established an air bridge to send crucial medical aids from Jordan to Gaza, in which hospitals are suffering from an extreme deficit because of the over 15 months of Israeli genocidal war.

Quoting the statement of Qatari Foreign Ministry, the action started from King Abdullah II Airbase in Jordan transferring supplies through helicopters to the town of Al-Qarar in Khan Younis which is located in southern Gaza.

The air bridge follows the path of a previous land route that Qatar developed to deliver humanitarian aid.

The program included Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Qatar’s Ambassador to Jordan Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani and representatives from Qatar Charity, the Qatar Fund for Development, in addition to the Qatar Red Crescent.

Al Misnad announced that since the start of the ceasefire agreement, Qatar has delivered 65 supply truck across the border of Jordan.

She also mentioned that “complementing this land bridge, two helicopter flights carrying vital medical aid will arrive in North Khan Younis.”
