Axicom Names Germany MD

(MENAFN- PRovoke) MUNICH - Axicom has appointed its first managing director in Germany, to spearhead the WPP specialist tech agency's expansion in Germany and Europe.

Eric Claassen brings 15 years of integrated brand and corporate communications experience at agencies including FleishmanHillard and MSL, and most recently developed and led the PR unit at German digital, data analytics and content agency Looping Group, whose clients have included BMW, Tiffany & Co, Allianz, Netflix, Asus and the Marine Stewardship Council.

Claassen joins the European leadership team and reports directly to new EMEA president Isobel Coney. His appointment is Axicom's first significant leadership addition under Coney, who joined the agency in October from Red Consultancy , after incumbent Kate Stevens moved into a new global chief experience officer role.

As part of the European growth strategy initiated with Coney's appointment, Claassen will work collaborate with colleagues across Axicom's six other European locations (London, Stockholm, Paris, Milan, Amsterdam, and Madrid). He will focus on employee development and the introduction of new services in data, analytics, AI, content creation, and creative services.

Axicom's previous leader in Germany was country manager Martina Brembeck, who has been with the firm for nearly 30 years and is now in her final year before retirement; she will remain in the business for a period of transition.

Axicom saw double-digit growth in 2024 and is aiming for a similar level of growth this year. It was named as PRovoke Media's EMEA and Global technology agency of the year in 2024.
