Ex Intel head Pat Gelsinger invites workers for prayer, fasting
(MENAFN) Ex Intel head Pat Gelsinger, who resigned from his management before a week ago, is calling individuals to pray and fast with him for the stressed chipmaker's workers.
"Every Thursday I do a 24 hour prayer and fasting day," Gelsinger posted on X on Sunday morning. "This week I'd invite you to join me in praying and fasting for the 100K Intel employees as they navigate this difficult period. Intel and its team is of seminal importance to the future of the industry and US."
The 63-year-old Gelsinger stepped down from Intel and its subsidiary, Mobileye, on December 1, following spending three decades of his career at the firm, involving the previous four years as its CEO.
The chipmaker has suffered amid the escalating rivals such as Nvidia as well as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., and Gelsinger's exit comes in during a four-year turnaround strategy targeted to strengthening Intel's chipmaking effectiveness.
Two high-raking heads, David Zinsner as well as Michelle Johnston Holthaus, are going to act as interim co-CEOs as the board seeks a fresh head executive, which has already started. The firm stated it has already made a search team "and will work diligently and expeditiously" to substitute Gelsinger's permanent.
