Tokayev, Lavrov Discuss President Putin's Upcoming Visit To Kazakhstan

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 7. President of
Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, who arrived in Astana on a working
visit, and discussed Russian President Vladimir Putin's forthcoming
visit to Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
Greeting the head of the Russian foreign ministry, Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev highlighted the dynamic development of bilateral
cooperation in the spirit of friendship and good neighborliness and
particularly emphasized the readiness for the upcoming state visit
of Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan at the end of November.
"We are seriously preparing for this visit. We believe it will
be a landmark event in our interstate relations. Our relations are
exemplary and developing dynamically. The upcoming visit will give
additional momentum to our strategic partnership and alliance,"
said the president.
In turn, Sergey Lavrov assured that all key issues of
multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, including
the agenda for the upcoming visit, are being carefully worked out
at the level of the governments and foreign ministries of the two
countries.
The Russian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for organizing a scientific-practical
conference in Astana dedicated to the 80th anniversary of MGIMO,
which has received a wide response in diplomatic circles and the
media.
The interlocutors discussed current issues on the regional and
international agenda, including cooperation within multilateral
structures and integration organizations.
The state visit of the President of Russia to Kazakhstan is
expected to take place on November 27. This became known during a
meeting between Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murat
Nurtleu, and Sergei Lavrov, which took place this morning in
Astana. The foreign ministers also signed a plan of activities for
cooperation between their ministries for 2025-2026.
