Amman, July 17 (Petra) - The Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) issued its bi-annual report, dubbed "Israeli Violations in Occupied Jerusalem," which covers the first six months of the year 2024.
According to a DPA statement Wednesday, the report said Israel continues its usual violations in occupied Jerusalem, targeting its residents, sanctities, and properties, to forcefully push its settlement, Judaizing, and racist plans against the holy city and its Arab and Islamic identity.
The data, which was based on official reports issued by a number of relevant authorities, indicated an escalation of Israel's violations against Jerusalem's holy sites, as the number of Jewish intruders into Al-Aqsa Mosque in the first half of 2024 exceeded 25,054 settlers.
During the January-June period, the report noted Israel killed a total of 23 Palestinians in Jerusalem governorate, including 5 from outside the region and 10 children.
The occupation authorities also continued to detain the bodies of 41 Jerusalemite martyrs in the so- call "Cemeteries of Numbers".
Also over the last 6 months of this year, Israel carried out a total 708 arrests in the city of Jerusalem, including 73 children and 37 women.
In Jerusalem's various areas, Israeli forces carried out 127 demolition and bulldozing operations, including 42 forced self-demolitions, while Israel's machinery demolished and bulldozed 73 and 12 homes, respectively.
At the level of settlement practices, the Israeli authorities approved 13 new settler projects, in addition to implementation of more than 9 projects that were approved earlier.
