Jordanian Businesswomen Discuss Challenges In Chamber Board Membership

Amman, July 17 (Petra) - The Amman Chamber of Commerce Businesswomen's Committee and the Jordan Forum For Business and Professional Women discussed the obstacles to businesswomen's participation in the boards of directors of chambers of commerce on Wednesday.
Nisreen Barakat, head of the committee, emphasized the significant role Jordanian women play in various sectors, particularly in the economic sphere, highlighting their success stories in the business community. She underscored the importance of the productive partnership with the forum to serve businesswomen and contribute to the national economy.
During her meeting with the forum's administrative head, Reem Baghdadi, Barakat noted that the committee aims to be a voice for women who want to engage in business and project management. She stressed the importance of supporting and empowering businesswomen in various commercial sectors to develop their businesses and participate in economic decision-making to ensure that their needs, realities, and challenges are addressed.
Baghdadi pointed out that the forum is currently implementing an exploratory project, supported by the Center for International Private Enterprise, to study the obstacles and identify the reasons for the low participation of women in the boards of chambers of commerce and how to overcome them.
