Security Forces Arrest Drug Smugglers In Ruwaished District


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - A special security force on Saturday raided a hideout of "one of the most dangerous" drug smugglers in Ruwaished district, who was arrested along with two accomplices, Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said.

The major suspect started shooting from an automatic weapon at members of the force, who applied the rules of engagement, injuring him in the foot and neutralising him, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The suspect was transferred to a local hospital and two other suspects were also arrested, the spokesperson added.

The PSD official noted that 125 palm-sized sheets of hashish, 53,000 narcotic pills, an amount of crystal meth, and three firearms, including two automatic guns, were seized, adding that an investigation is underway.
