The Novaya Gazeta. Europe newspaper clarifies that the smoke was rising from the area close to the City Mall on the outskirts of Belgorod, which is formally located in the village of Dubovo. The publication also posted showing the smoke rising, with a female voice saying off camera:“This is our air defense. What should we do now? They won't be able to intercept missiles now."

As reported with reference to ISW, the destruction of Russian air defense systems in Belgorod region prompted the Russian command to pull air defense equipment to the area, taking it from the temporarily occupied Crimea, which in turn worsened Russia's air defense network on the peninsula.
