Azerbaijan Amends Regulations On Service In Customs Authorities
The updated law stipulates coverage of the costs for relocating customs officials and their families to a new place of service, including the transportation of their belongings and a one-time compensation, by the funds specified in Article 334.1 of the Customs Code (funds coming from the sale of goods and vehicles transferred to state ownership based on court decisions on crimes detected by customs authorities in the field of customs affairs, administrative offenses against customs rules, fines, and customs payments), and in accordance with Articles 224.1.5 (customs fees) and 224.1.6 (payments) of the Customs Code, transferred to the account of the executive authority responsible for customs affairs as stipulated by the relevant executive authority.
Hence, depending on the place of residence, customs officials and their families who live in rented accommodation and do not have a place of residence because of a change in their place of employment will be financially compensated for rent in the amount and process set by the relevant executive authority.
Until recently, the relocation of a customs official and their family, as well as their belongings, to a new place of service was covered by funds allocated for the maintenance of customs authorities, as established by the executive authority responsible for customs affairs.
