Traveller At Hamad Airport Arrested For Concealing Drugs Inside Body

Doha, Qatar: A traveller was arrested at Hamad International Airport following the discovery of illegal drugs in his body.

According to a statement by the General Authority of Customs on social media, the person was arriving in to Qatar when an inspector raised suspicion on the traveller.

Authorities then made the individual pass through a body scanner, which led to the detection of foreign objects inside the man's body. He was further referred to medical inspection where 80 capsules were found inside his entrails.

The illegal substances found were Shabu and heroin, with a total weight of 610grams.

Officials have affirmed that Qatar has strengthened its borders by ensuring that all its customs officials have the latest available technology to improve efficiency and stay vigilant against smugglers.

Hamad International Airport is among the most advanced airports when it comes to tracking systems for detecting suspicious materials. These devices, which serve as an essential aid, are capable of discovering prohibited items regardless of how cleverly they are concealed.
