Kuwait Parliament Discusses Grilling Motion Against Commerce Min.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- The National Assembly began on Tuesday discussions over the grilling motion submitted by MP Hamdan Al-Azmi against Minister of Commerce and Industry, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Aiban.
The minister said he was ready to address the MP's lines of questions.
The grilling motion will be focusing on issues pertaining to conflict of interest, abuse of authority, negligence, financial and administrative violations, failure to manage the state fund for small and medium-size enterprises, and lack of commodities' prices management.
The cabinet, during its weekly meeting last Monday, affirmed that MPs have the right to submit grilling motions against ministers, indicating that Al-Aiban was ready to address the points included in the motion.
Speaker of the National Assembly Ahmad Al-Saadoun began the parliamentary session earlier today.
The session will discuss several proposals including a draft law to raise the minimum retirement wage as well as cost of living allowance.
The government's strategic plan to mend the pay gap is also on the agenda of discussions including other prominent issues. (end)
