Ambassador Sanchez expressed his happiness at Katara's launch of the new version of the European language activities, noting that the event provides a valuable opportunity to introduce the Spanish culture and language, which is spoken by nearly 600 million people and is spreading rapidly throughout the world.

He extended gratitude to Katara and said that the event enhances rapprochement and understanding between peoples and communities.

Meanwhile, a group of working papers and visual presentations were presented during the event, in which a number of academics and researchers participated, through which they reviewed their experiences in learning the Spanish language and its deep connection between Arab and Spanish culture.

Katara launched the European language activities last May, in cooperation with the European Union delegation in Doha and the embassies of five European countries in Qatar including Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Sweden where each country presented its activities, which varied from practical workshops to theoretical lectures on languages.

Through the launch of these events, Katara seeks to open important cultural and civilisational spaces to introduce the cultural and linguistic diversity for which the continent of Europe is famous, stressing the importance of languages as a bridge of communication and rapprochement between cultures.
