"We have seen the great fun and success that other traditional games have had in unifying and rallying regional clubs, and we realized it was time to unify the thands of Strat-O-Matic players who have been playing for years or, as wew during the Pandemic, are new to the game,”id Adam Richman, CEO, Strat-O-Matic Media.“It will give a formalized way to bring together fans of all ages to play in venues ranging from hobby clubs to gaming facilities, and to meet new players not t locally but regionally as well. This is the first step in what we think will be a well received initiative to expand club play tolleges and high schools as well, all revolving around the love of game play, data, and camaraderie tied to sports like baseball.”
In t the first month, more than 39 clubs have registered through Strat-O-Matic's revamped Clubs program and are both getting perks while also sharing the camaraderie of playing their favorite game with others who share their love of Strat-O-Matic. Ages of players range from early teens to 80. While it has started with the traditional baseball game, Richman feels it will evolve into other sports like football, hockey basketball.

About Strat-O-Matic
Strat-O-Matic was invented by 11-year-old Hal Richman in his bedroom in Great Neck, N.Y. in 1948 as a result of his ftration with the statistical randomness of other baseball board games. He divered that the statistical predictability of dice would give his game the realism he craved. Over the next decade, he perfected the game at summer camp and then as a student at Bucknell University. After producing All-Star sets in 1961 and '62, he parlayed a $5,000 loan from his father (and made a deal that if it didn't work out he would work for his father's insurancepany) into the original 1962 Strat-O-Matic Baseball season game. Needless toy, Hal never had to take a job with his father.
