France's health minister recommends to use masks when exhibiting COVID-19 signs

(MENAFN) On Monday, France's minister of health recommended citizens to use the "reflex of wearing a mask" in the event that they exhibit COVID-19 symptoms or come into touch with weaker individuals.

When questioned about the requirement to wear face masks, as it was in the COVID-19 virus, Aurelien Rousseau informed, "Today, we do not have this scenario."

He continued, "The COVID-19 and its variants that we know neither present a danger, nor show a particularly preoccupying number of cases," while stating that the administration is still keeping an eye on the matter.

"As soon as there is a small symptom or you are in contact with people under risk, you should get back the reflex to wear masks," Rousseau issued a caution.

Of response to a recent modest spike of COVID-19 cases in France, a medical facility in the Gironde department's southwest instituted a policy requiring mask wear inside the structure.

A new vaccination campaign will begin in October for those at risk, such as people over 65, expectant women, and healthcare professionals.
