Ukraine's Air Defense Forces Destroy Four Cruise Missiles, Ten Attack Drones Overnight


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Between 22:00 on June 8 and 04:00 on June 9, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones and Kh-101/Kh-55 cruise missiles, targeting the country's military facilities and critical infrastructure.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force said this in a post on facebook .

Shahed drones were launched from the south, whereas cruise missiles were launched from four Tu-95ms strategic bombers in the Caspian Sea area.

Up to 16 attack UAVs and six air-launched cruise missiles were used in the attack, the Ukrainian Air Force said.

"In the areas of responsibility of the Air Commands East, West and South and in cooperation with the air defense forces of other elements of Ukraine's defense forces, the air defense forces and means of the Air Force destroyed four Kh-101/Kh-55 cruise missiles, ten Shahed-136/131 and Lancet attack drones and four Orlan-10 and Supercam operational and tactical UAVs," the report said.

Also, at around 20:00 on June 8, the enemy struck a civilian object in the Cherkasy region with two Kalibr missiles fired from the Black Sea.

Ukraine's Air Force carried out up to 20 air strikes against air defense equipment, logistics, military equipment and positions of the occupying forces during the past and current day.
