The patriarch commended Iran's campaign, highlighting its crucial role in preserving civilization and safeguarding religion in Iraq and Syria.
During the meeting, Mar Awa III also lauded Iran's commitment to interfaith dialogue and its respect for monotheistic religions. In response, President Raisi emphasized that the lack of morality and religious belief lies at the root of human subjugation and brutality witnessed across the globe. He underscored the significance of morality and religion as essential pillars of human civilization, asserting that their proper implementation could contribute to resolving a wide range of issues.
Raisi highlighted the notion that development and welfare alone are insufficient for human societies. He emphasized that alongside material progress, morality, spirituality, and a meaningful connection with God are among the most crucial needs of individuals within such societies. The President further commented on the atrocities committed by Takfiri terrorists in the region, noting that they falsely portrayed their actions as religiously motivated, while in reality, they contradicted the principles of true religious beliefs.
