Dubai, United Arab Emirates, May 1, 2023: Dubai Health Authority(DHA) is participating in the 30th edition of the Arabian Travel Market 2023, which is currently taking place at the Dubai World Trade Center, with the participation of more than 2,000 exhibiting companies and about 34,000 participants representing more than 150 countries.


The Authority's presence in this global event, is part of the Authority's continuous plans and efforts to enhance Dubai's position and competitiveness as a leading destination for health tourism.

Mohamed Al Mheiri, Director of Health Tourism Department at the DHA highlighted the importance of the authority's participation in this conference and exhibition, which seeks to shape the future of the travel and tourism sector, explore new opportunities for growth, innovation and networking to develop sustainable and innovative travel trends.

Al Mheiri highlighted the online medical tourism portal ( which was designed in cooperation with many distinguished healthcare facilities in the emirate.

He also discussed the latest medical tourism initiative introduced by the DHA known as Dubai in One Day.
The initiative offers screening packages that are aimed to be convenient, quick, efficient.

Al Mheiri said that a tourist can conveniently complete his complete medical screening within 2 hours to 6 hours depending on the package selected and that the results are provided within 24 to 48 hours, making it highly effective and convenient for tourists.

Tourists can book the service by directly contacting the participating facilities.

Al Mheiri said that the packages are mainly tailored for the 25 to 50 age group to encourage preventative screening and tourists can select general health screening or dental and ophthalmology packages that can also be completed in one day, leaving the tourist with time to enjoy tourism activities in the Emirate.

He added:“We will continue to add more packages under various specialties so that tourists can have more choice.”







Al Mheiri highlighted that Dubai saw remarkable growth in medical tourism in 2022 with 674,000 medical tourists spending AED992 million in the year, an increase of AED262 million from 2021.

According to a report issued by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), 39% per cent of the medical tourists who came to Dubai were from Asian countries, 22% from Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States and 21 % from Arab and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
