British Supply of Depleted Uranium Munitions to Ukraine Could Escalate Conflict, Warns Russian State Duma Chairman

(MENAFN) Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin has warned that the British decision to supply depleted uranium munitions to Kiev could make the Ukraine conflict a threat to the whole of Europe. Volodin stated that the acquisition of such weapons could become a stepping stone to even more dangerous weapons, including the use of a dirty bomb or the deployment of a tactical nuclear weapon.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has also expressed concern about the British decision, warning that Russia “will be forced to react accordingly.” The Russian military previously claimed that two organizations in Ukraine had been given instructions to build a dirty bomb using materials that Kiev has had access to since it was part of the Soviet Union.

The conflict in Ukraine continues to pose a significant risk to regional stability, and the supply of advanced weaponry to either side could further escalate tensions. It is important for all parties to prioritize dialogue, diplomacy, and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
