BAKU, March 3 (KUNA) -- The Old City or Inner City in Azerbaijan's capital Baku is a top tourist attraction, as it represents the a rich historic part of the city, dating back to the seventh century.
The Old City preserved a large part of its walls that protected it against invasions, dating back to the 12th century.
The city contains historic mosques, commercial squares, Shirvanshah Palace and the Maiden Tower, which dates back to the sixth and seventh centuries, allowing the city to qualify to be under the UNESCO's list of world heritage. (end) mjz.ag
