Canadians rush to assist Türkiye amid major tremors

(MENAFN) Canadians are still providing aid to Turkey after two large earthquakes that shook southern Turkey earlier this week.

Aid offices were established in conjunction with the Turkish consulate generals in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver to assist both the country's Muslim population and the people of Canada.

The weekend is crowded at the relief centers in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.

Sinem Mingan, the consul general of Türkiye in Toronto, stated that Canadians from all walks of life flock to Türkiye's facilities with the help they have accumulated since the support has long outlasted Turkish society. She said, "We live in crying times."

"In addition to Muslim communities, we receive tremendous donations from our Canadian friends who have never set foot in Türkiye," she added. "When we thank them, they say 'this is our debt to Türkiye.' You can see this even at the smallest individual or family level."
