Arab League Deplores Attempted Arson Attack On Jerusalem Church

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- The Arab League on Thursday condemned an attack by Israeli settlers on a church in the Old city of Jerusalem, in which they attempted to set the building ablaze, slamming the incident as an effort to incite religious conflict.
The Israeli government is 'fully responsible' for crimes that violate the sanctity of places of worship, the Cairo-based bloc said in a statement, citing its assistant undersecretary for Palestinian Affairs Dr. Saeed Abuali.
The statement went on to urge the international community to enforce global laws and conventions in a bid to protect holy sites from such vicious attacks. (end)
