Indonesia Considers Direct Air Connectivity With Bangladesh

Dhaka : Indonesia will be making visa processing easier for Bangladeshis. At the same time, direct flights between Indonesia and Bangladesh will also be launched.

The discussion was held when Indonesian Ambassa-dor to Bangladesh Heru Hartanto Subolo on December 22 paid a courtesy call on Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman.

They discussed the renewal of the aviation agreement between the two countries and the launch of direct flights between Bangladesh and Indonesia, according to a press release.

They discussed increasing mutual cooperation between the aviation sectors of the two countries and developing skilled manpower in the aviation sector of Bangladesh, especially in the field of crew training and aircraft simulator training.

Apart from this, cooperation was assured regarding the establishment of an aircraft maintenance facility, flight calibration, and calibration of various instruments.

The Indonesian envoy informed the CAAB chairman that Bangladeshi tourists are increasing in Indonesia, following the Covid-19 outbreak.
