Türkiye promises for extra improvement in its multi-faceted ties with Algeria
(MENAFN) Türkiye on Saturday promised to further improve its multi-faceted ties with Algeria.
Holding a joint press session along with his Algerian fellow Ramtane Lamamra in Algiers, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu commented that many problems and prospects of collaboration in many fields as well as defense, maritime, fishery, commerce, agriculture, energy, culture and education were negotiated during the meeting of Turkish-Algerian Joint Planning Group held in the Algerian capital.
Emphasizing rising Turkish investments in Algeria, Cavusoglu stated more than 1,400 Turkish firms invested over USD5 billion in Algeria.
He further underlined that Turkish-Algeria collaboration in the fields of energy and agriculture would be helpful not only for the two nations, but also for the wider region and the world.
Entrance of Türkiye's Ziraat Bank and the planned rise of flight frequency of Turkish Airlines to/from Algeria will as well contribute to further development of bilateral ties, Cavusoglu added.
He also said that Türkiye and Algeria would soon open cultural centers to develop societal ties between the two countries.
