Evidence shows Ukrainian missile impacted Poland
(MENAFN) According to evidence acquired by Poland, the United States, and NATO, a Ukrainian missile killed two persons on Polish soil this week, according to Jacek Siewiera, the head of Warsaw's National Security Bureau (BBN), on Thursday.
Polish President Andrzej Duda previously stated that the rocket was most likely a Ukrainian weapon. Meanwhile, Washington recognized that it had no proof to refute Duda's judgment, while Kiev raced to blame the event on Moscow.
“All the evidence that has been collected on the NATO, American and our sides indicates that we are dealing with an S-300 missile launched by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense,” Siewiera stated on Thursday, without providing details on the information gathered by investigators. According to the BBN CEO, the Polish Prosecutor's Office is now in charge of the investigation into the occurrence.
Warsaw would not object to Ukrainian "observers" participating in the probe, according to Siewiera, adding that the Polish president, in particular, "sees no impediments" to this if all legal conditions are completed.
He also defended Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's position on the matter, claiming that Ukraine is currently in the "hardest time" of its battle with Russia in terms of air attacks. Under such circumstances, it is "natural" for its president to stick to "hypotheses that seem logical from the standpoint of national defense," according to the BBN head.
