EdTech accelerator signs three emerging leaders that are poised to transform professional development, mental health and wellness, and transportation

Online PR News – 02-October-2022 – Northport, NY – K12 Spark, a newly-formed accelerator, announced that it has signed three companies as charter members of its portfolio, paving the way for emerging leaders to quickly grow their businesses while meaningfully transforming mission-critical areas of .

The first round of companies are QoreInsights, TEAMology, and Go Together, each of which bring a unique approach to addressing some of today's biggest challenges facing leaders and educators.

QoreInsights , founded by Toni Shub, provides an adaptive professional development platform for educators that precisely aligns the needs of students to each teacher's professional learning journey. With the ability to capture 360 insights on teaching effectiveness, including performance data and student feedback, teachers curate a highly personalized set of evidence-based resources that focus on exactly what each teacher needs. And, just as importantly, the professional learning is dynamically refined throughout the year, reflecting the reality that student needs are dynamic and ever changing. Also unique to professional development platforms, teachers and education leaders are able to track impact on student growth.

Founding K12 Spark Member, Paula Reed, cited the unique power behind QoreInsights,“District leaders are saying that teacher professional development has never been tied to student voice and achievement. QoreInsights technology platform does just that! We are highly optimistic that Toni and her team are what districts need for scalability and what teachers need to obtain quick PD for the betterment of student learning.”

TEAMology , founded by Linsey Covert, provides a uniquely engaging, totally safe space for K-2 students to talk about and strengthen their social and emotional wellness. Working with WQED, the home of Fred Rogers, to develop evidence-based characters, TEAMology offers young learners a space to share what's on their minds in a way that was never previously available to all students. Using a combination of automated and human interaction, TEAMology's technology synthesizes the challenges students face as young learners and helps educators, social workers, and student support specialists identify specifically what kinds of support each student needs.

David Irwin, another founding member of K12 Spark, noted the importance of TEAMology's work,“For all the talk of social emotional wellness in schools, we found that schools are under-resourced when it comes to creating the space that kids need to share and grow. We recognize that schools are investing heavily in screeners and assessments, which is good, but we know that schools need ways for students - especially the younger ones - to create meaningful connections. The kind of connections that lead to authentic understanding of what they need. TEAMology brings together evidence-based practice with the kind of creativity and caring that we feel is so critical right now. We couldn't be more excited to support their work.”

Go Together , founded by Kimberly Moore and Charles King, is upending the way schools address student transportation. Not only is there a national shortage of available drivers, there's an abundant need to unilaterally transform the way students get to and from school and school-based activities. Go Together is doing just that, equipping school districts and individual schools with safe and reliable community-based transportation options that utilizes a modern approach to the time-tested notion of carpools, walking, biking or taking public transit together.

Jim McVety, also a founding member of K12 Spark, underscored the importance of addressing student transportation challenges,“Every school district in North America is not only struggling with transportation issues such as cost, logistics, and capacity, they are facing a looming crisis associated with conventional transportation models. There's no second wave of bus drivers coming, and shifts to electric buses, while laudable, will not address the underlying challenges. Go Together sees this, and sees all the potential that resides in the communities that school districts serve. It will take an unconventional approach to a mission-critical problem. If we want kids to learn, we have to get them to school. Go Together understands this better than anyone, and has the solution to make it happen. We're beyond thrilled to join them on this ride.”
