Embassy Of Japan In Azerbaijan Organizes Candle Festival (PHOTO)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. Candle Festival is another confirmation of warm and friendly relations between Japan and Azerbaijan, Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Junichi Wada said, Trend reports.

'The main meaning of this festival lies in the prayers and wishes for health and peace for their loved ones. We are very happy to hold this festival today in the heart of Baku city. This week we marked the 30th anniversary of our diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan. This holiday once again confirms the warm and friendly relations between our countries,' the ambassador said.

He added that the Candle Festival in Baku became the second largest after the festival in Australia.

Today Baku hosted the Candle Festival, which is held within the framework of the 'Year of Friendship' between Japan and Azerbaijan in connection with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

This project is part of the Nara Candle Festival held in Nara Prefecture. 20,000 burning special candles are placed throughout Nara Park. This event has been held annually since 1999 for 10 days, and the number of visitors exceeds 90 thousand people. During the event in Baku, it is planned to use 2,100 candles specially brought from Japan.
