Minister Dumps ABC, Joins DC - The Post
MASERU – POLICE Minister Lepota Sekola on Tuesday dumped the All Basotho Convention (ABC) and joined its main rival, the Democratic Congress (DC).
Sekola was introduced to the public as a new DC member in Makhaleng constituency where he was officially welcomed by the women's league president, Likeleli Tampane.
Speaking at the welcoming event, Sekola who was fully dressed in the DC regalia, said his wish is for the Makhaleng constituency to return to the DC.
Sekola is currently the ABC MP for the Makhaleng constituency.
“This can happen when I and you are holding hands together,” Sekola said.
He said he is given resources by God therefore being mobile is not a problem for him in campaigning.
As a serving cabinet minister Sekola has access to state resources to campaign for his political party, paid from the public purse.
“We should all work hard to achieve the goal we have,” he told the DC members in Makhaleng.
“I promise you Tampane and others that the Makhaleng constituency will be won by the Democratic Congress,” he said.
In her welcome address, Tampane said her wish is for the Makhaleng constituency to return to the Democratic Congress.
“We welcome you with warm hands,” Tampane said.
Sekola declined to reveal to thepost why he dumped the ABC.
