Waste Management Conference And Exhibition Begins
The second edition of the Waste Management Conference and Exhibition that features the latest technologies and innovations in the waste management sector kicked off Monday in Doha. HE the Minister of Municipality Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie opened the exhibition in the presence of HE the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali al-Thani, a number of senior officials from various ministries and representatives of public institutions and private companies.
While delivering the keynote address, al-Subaie noted that the conference and the exhibition are beneficial to Qatar since the country focuses on implementing systematic waste management.“Several local, regional and international organizations specialised in waste management are taking part in the conference and the exhibition with putting together policies to reduce inappropriate disposal of waste,” he said, adding that Qatar has a comprehensive strategy to manage and reduce waste and to invest in the waste management sector.

“The country is focusing on raising awareness and a team has been formed in order to reach the best solutions,” he said and added that the conference studies and discusses the latest developments in waste management.
