The Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan announced that the European Union will establish a center of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan in Termez of Uzbekistan.

A statement released by the ministry reads that special representatives of EU and Uzbekistan for Afghanistan discussed the issue on Monday, November, 15 in Brussels.

European Union's envoy to Afghanistan Tomas Niklasson appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan in the evacuation of EU nationals from Afghanistan and expressed interest in continued cooperation with Uzbekistan in bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The special representatives also agreed to continue consultations.

Earlier, the United Nations had said that the main hub of the World Food Program for assistance to Afghanistan will be based in Termez.

It comes as the international aid organizations have called on the international community to move forward and help prevent the deepening humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
