Ghana: Floods leave 7 people dead


(MENAFN) On Monday, Jun. 28 an official stated that seven persons as a minimum lost their lives in floods that swept parts of southern Ghana.

Atakora Manu, the administrator of the National Disaster Management Organization of Ashanti Region, noted the fatalities rose to seven after another three bodies were retrieved in the city of Kumasi.

More losses are expected as a search drive carries on in the city of Kumasi, according to the official.

Floods swamped Kumasi during the weekend because of heavy showers which began on Friday.
