EU, India agree to resume trade discussion
(MENAFN)The European Union (EU) and India have decided to recommence the discussion on a free trade accord that were stopped in 2013, stated European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen throughout the virtual EU-India summit on Saturday, May 8.
"I'm looking forward to restarting the negotiations," declared von der Leyen soon before a video discussion between the heads of state and government of the EU states with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two sides will also talk about an investment protection treaty and geographical indication protection.
Von der Leyen stated that between the EU and India "there's a close relationship but also a lot of untapped potential," most of which is in trade and asset.
