(MENAFN- NewsBytes) Karnataka Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader BS Yediyurappa tested positive for coronavirus today. The 78-year-old gave an update about it on Twitter.
He had contracted the disease in August 2020 as well and had to be hospitalized.
Notably, he has been campaigning for the last few days in the north Karnataka constituencies, where by-polls will be held on Saturday.

Cases Karnataka reported over 14,500 cases yesterday
One of the worst-hit states , Karnataka added 14,738 new cases to its tally on Thursday. Of them, 10,497 cases were reported from Bengaluru Urban. The state's caseload is 11,09,650 with 13,112 people dying so far. Of the 96,561 active cases in Karnataka, 71,827 are concentrated in Bengaluru Urban.
Yesterday, India reported 2.1 lakh new coronavirus cases and 1,185 deaths.
